Made from 100% Pure Beeswax. Ferdinand Knorr came to the United States in 1904 after fleeing from his native Poland and the Russian Czar. Tinkering in his machine shop and enjoying his hobby of beekeeping proved to be a successful combination. Fred produced an improved honeycomb for his bees and his famous candles soon followed ... candles that were dripless, smokeless and had a gentle fragarance. The candles were developed in 1928 and initially sold to gift shops and a local inn. The business has been operated by successive generations since 1950. Henry, Judy, and new owner Steve have made Knorr Candle Factory a continuing success by using only the finest materials and holding on to traditional manufacturing methods. Knorr's high quality dripless 100% Beeswax candles with top notch wicks are a welcome addition to homes in all fifty states and around the world. They are regarded truly as an art. The meticulous craftsmanship that goes into Knorr candles follows the industrious efforts of thousands of bees. 160,000 bees must travel 150,000 miles collecting nectar to produce 60 pounds of honey that yields only 1 pound of beeswax. Pure 100% beeswax candles burn at a rate of 1 to 1 1/2 inches per hour and should be arranged about 4 inches apart out of the way of drafts. Candles should be stored at room temperature. From the moment you first see your Knorr beeswax candle, light the candle and watch it burn so cleanly, you'll know you've gotten the highest quality beeswax candle available.

These candles are probably real beeswax, but they burned really quickly. I have bought other beeswax candles sold on amazon and they burned much longer!

I like these candles and believe they are quality beeswax. The description is accurate, except they are not "thick". Also, they are more tapered than the picture, and look a lot smaller. They are only a quarter of an inch thick, which the description says (0.25"), but it precedes that by the word "thick".
Because they are so thin, I would say they completely burn through all five inches in less than an hour. When I received the envelope, it barely felt like it had anything in it (even with two bundles of 12-packs). Otherwise, they are pleasant, and useful if you only want an hour of light/warmth/freshness. I've heard beeswax emits ions that clean the air, and although I'm skeptical, I do like them to remove odors. Next time I will try a different natural fuel (palm, soy wax), to cost less, and perhaps get a longer burn.
